How to manually connect and verify a bank account with micro-deposits – Built Pay

Connecting a bank account manually is easier than you might think. This article will walk you through the process.

Before making or receiving payments to your bank account, you'll first need to link one (or as many as you want).

There are two ways to do this:

By using your online banking credentials to easily connect your account via Plaid. See this article on how to automatically add a bank account.
If you don't have an online bank login, prefer not to use it or can’t find your bank on Plaid’s list, follow the steps below to add, connect and verify your bank manually with micro-deposits.

You can connect your bank account when making a payment.

Log in to Built Pay.
Go to your Pay Bills dashboard.
Select a bill to pay from the Received list.
Choose Bank Account when asked how you want to pay.
Choose Verified with Deposits when asked to connect your bank account.
Fill in your bank account details and click Next.
Your bank verification process is now pending.

Verifying bank account:
- Within 3 business days, you will receive two very small deposits in the account that you wish to connect.
- Once deposited, you'll receive an email with a link where you can enter the two micro-deposit amounts.
NOTE: Until your bank account is verified, you will be notified either on the dashboard or with a mark on your bank account details when you make a payment.
Verify your bank account by filling in the two amounts. Click Submit when ready.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If one or the two amounts is incorrect, the verification process will fail. New amounts will be deposited in your account and you will need to begin the verification process again.

~ You will have up to two more chances to verify your bank account.

~ If all three attempts fail, you won’t be able to verify this bank account.
When you enter the two amounts correctly you will receive an approval notice at the bottom of the dashboard.
